Biography
About me
I was born in South Korea where I studied mechanical design and worked in the design department at Samsung. In 2018, my family and I moved to London, Canada. While taking up a new life in a new Place, I felt rewarded with various cultural experiences, promoting my inner growth and entering as an artist in the process. It is no exaggeration to say that my life can be divided into before and after encountering watercolor painting. After painting, I knew what were truly important things for my life. I believe that painting is a great teacher for self-healing. I want to use my talent that I learned by myself as a volunteer. In the near future, I will open a watercolor class for the elderly.
StatementMy paintings tell the story about my experience, atmosphere, emotion and an inspirational creation. My painting represents the story of nature with warm colors and loose touches of landscape to people who live tight and busy lives. I believe that by gaining healing and positive energy from the paintings, the value and quality of our daily routine can be enhanced.Landscape, florals, still life and abstract are my favorite subjects for me.
One of my artwork was selected by the prestigious Canadian Society painters in WaterColour (CSPWC) in 2024. Three of my other artworks were selected for the Contemporary Art Society Juried Exhibition in the NS public Archive in Halifax. I was awarded 3rd place for the CAS artist event in 2019.
